To celebrate National Poetry Day, P3 explored this year's theme of "Wonder" by thinking about the wonder of one of our favourite treats... chocolate cake! We listened to Michael Rosen's famous poem Chocolate Cake and discussed the language, rhythm and humour used throughout.

As a class, we worked together to create our own chocolate cake poem. We brainstormed exciting words and rhyming pairs to describe chocolate cake and thought carefully about how to make our poem fun and engaging for the reader. The children shared fantastic ideas and used their imaginations to create some wonderful rhymes and descriptive phrases.
