2D Shape

During our mathematics lesson on 2D shape, the children explored a variety of shapes through practical, hands-on activities. They used lolly pop sticks, geoboards, play dough and cubes to create different 2D shapes, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of shape formation. As they worked, the children discussed the names of the shapes and their properties, including the number of sides and corners. This engaging lesson encouraged mathematical talk, problem-solving and collaboration while strengthening their knowledge of 2D shapes.
