Place Value

WALT: We were learning to understand and use place value to 10,000 by building, reading, ordering and partitioning numbers using practical resources.

P5A explored place value to 10,000 through practical, hands-on activities using place value counters, base ten equipment and number cards. The pupils built and represented numbers, identified the value of each digit, partitioned numbers into thousands, hundreds, tens and ones, and compared and ordered numbers while explaining their mathematical thinking.
