WALT identify the features of a discussion text

P7 pupils worked collaboratively to explore the key features of a discussion text as part of their current writing topic. Working in groups, the children carefully analysed examples of discussion texts and identified important features such as balanced arguments, formal language, connectives, and a clear conclusion.

Through discussion and teamwork, pupils highlighted and categorised these features, developing their understanding of how discussion texts are structured and why they are used. The activity encouraged critical thinking, communication, and cooperation as pupils shared their ideas and justified their choices.
