P3B have begun our exciting new topic, The Great Fire of London, with lots of hands-on, activity-based learning! We travelled back in time to discover what London was like in 1666, becoming history detectives as we carefully examined pictures for clues about why the fire spread so quickly. We spotted important features, such as houses being built from wood and buildings being packed closely together along narrow streets.

We brought our learning to life through a STEM building challenge, working together to recreate the streets and houses of London in 1666 using blocks and LEGO, before comparing the old city with London today.

Our learning continued through art as we created dramatic Great Fire of London skylines, using silhouetted buildings against fiery night skies. It has been a fantastic start to our new topic, with lots of investigating, building, teamwork and creativity. We certainly have some budding historians, engineers and artists in P3B! 🎨🔥🏘️
