Synonyms

Our pupils have been expanding their vocabulary this week by exploring synonyms to describe different emotions. Using both printed thesauruses and online versions, the children searched for richer, more precise words to replace simple adjectives. They gathered their favourites into personalised word banks, building a fantastic resource they’ll use in their upcoming diary writing.

The class enjoyed discovering new words, comparing meanings, and choosing the most effective vocabulary for the emotions.
