Multiplying by 10 and 100

Today in P5A, we learnt how to multiply by 10 and by 100. We noticed that when you multiply a number by 10, all the digits move one place to the left. A simple rule to remember is: add one zero. When multiplying by 100, the digits move two places to the left, so the rule becomes: add two zeros. The pupils used thousands, hundreds, tens, and ones grids to explore how the digits shift as the number gets bigger. This hands‑on approach helped everyone understand the concept more clearly.
