WALT: count sets within 10

This week, the children took part in a numeracy lesson focused on counting sets within 10. We explored counting in a practical, hands‑on way to help build confidence and understanding.

The children used practical games and a range of materials to count, sort, and make sets of objects. Through play‑based activities, they practised counting carefully, matching one object to one number, and checking totals together.

These activities supported number recognition, early maths vocabulary, and problem‑solving skills, while encouraging cooperation and turn‑taking.
