Vision and Values
School Aims
We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum based on the Northern Ireland Curriculum (NIC). We increasingly aim to develop the skills, abilities and aptitudes to experience success in learning and the desire to achieve. As young citizens, we aim to provide learning opportunities through which our pupils will develop as individuals, contributors to society and contributors to the economy and environment.
Our aims are thus:
- To be complementary to the Christian home and values
- To support parents/carers in handing on the faith
- To provide a broad and balanced curriculum
- To develop the full potential of each child
- To promote and enhance ICT skills ready for a technological world
- Encourage inclusion
- To be self-evaluating and self-improving: using data and judgements to inform and improve practice
- As a school to be ambitious, visionary, progressive and articulate.
- To inspire confidence and ambition within every child
- To develop a caring and secure environment where children and staff feel valued and secure
- To support and train staff appropriate to needs
- To develop values
- To promote respect and tolerance of self and others
- To encourage parental involvement in their child’s education
- To promote the profile of the school in the community
- Promote staff development opportunities – both teaching and non-teaching staff
- Seek opportunities to utilise local educational opportunities/resources
