Wednesday 9th February

As part of the music tuition sessions that are available to pupils within St. Colmcille’s the Primary 4 class have just started a six week beginners course in Violin. The sessions which are provided by highly trained EA music tutors provide vibrant, high quality, professional music education for the Primary 4 pupils which they are thoroughly enjoying 🎻🎼

Friday 21st January

As part of World Around Us topic of Polar Regions and Polar Animals we have been focusing on Polar Bears this week and have been looking at how they survive in the cold harsh weather conditions of the Arctic and Antarctica. As part of our learning this week we had to label the parts of a polar bear and so we decided to create our own 3D polar bears using polystyrene. It was a very enjoyable activity that was carried out over a few lessons and the final pieces were excellent - the most enjoyable part was cutting and experiencing working with polystyrene (except for the tidying and cleaning up😀).

Thursday 21st October

We were very lucky to have Melissa Keenan (parent of four pupils in St. Colmcille’s) join us this morning and show us how to make beautiful decorative Autumn Wreaths. Melissa showed the pupils how easy to it is make something so beautiful using elements of nature that are all around us in leaves, twigs, pine cones, etc. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the session and we thank Melissa for giving up her time to join us.
